Hendrick's Institute| Sacrifice Ego, Listening to All Forms (Verbal and Non-Verbal) Communication

News From Home From Katie: We're completing our portion of a relationship teleseminar with the Shift Network this week. Our focus, making love easy, runs up against millions of thought bubbles about how hard love is, how much compromise and sacrifice is needed. That history led to our creation of a new online course, Lasting Love Made Easy, which really lays out a practical pathway to relationship magic. I continue to live into the principles we teach and have been celebrating them in anticipation of the call. Today I'm enjoying the choice that Gay and I have made to give each other our full attention when the other is speaking. That action, turning toward, opening our postures to receive, breathing with the words and all the nonverbal richness of each interaction, creates ease more than any other choice. We're not multi-tasking and making internal lists, mentally rehearsing or rebutting. We are appreciating, listening for what the other really wants and adding to (rather than taking away with criticism or changing the subject) the toss when replying. It's taken years to move from intention to some dropped balls to tossing with panache. Attending rewards us all along the way, though, with play, fun and deeper discovery. Rather than perfection, we've achieved easy love. Full, robust, bursting-its-britches love, and that's what we want for everyone who's interested. How are you creating easy love in your life? With love, Katie & Gay Hendricks
