 Dr. Ruth H. Allen is a native of New Jersey.

Dr. Allen is an author, frequent public speaker on health and environmental topics, a certified Integral Life Coach. She received her PhD degree from Yale University in 1977 in environmental health.  Dr. Allen served on the faculty at American University in environmental sciences and management. She completed post doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University in cancer epidemiology, biostatistics, and prevention research from 1983-86, earning a Masters in Public Health in 1984. Dr. Allen became a certified integral life coach in 1999. The purpose of Integral Life Coaching is to evoke excellence in others.


Dr. Allen is an alumni of the New Ventures West Coaching Program, and she has over 20 years of coaching experience in academia and government. She has coached people in all walks of life. In addition

Dr. Allen currently is a Senior Environmental Epidemiologist with the Federal government, and the Team Leader for two large multi-agency health research studies. She has published extensively on breast cancer and environmental risk, women's health, geographic patterns of cancer, risk assessment and pesticide biomonitoring.

Dr. Allen is on the adjunct faculty at Yale University for the Environment and Health Initiative which offers coaching, teaching and training programs to a global audience. Dr. Allen is authoring a book on Global Health and Environment: An Integral Approach. Dr. Allen is a community leader for Reston Baha'i Community. To balance a busy life, Dr. Allen enjoys fitness and yoga, gardening and walks in nature, and singing with the Metropolitan DC Baha'i Chorale and the Art of Living NOVA Ashram Bhajan Singers.
